Storming the Digital Divide: Graphic Novel Presentation

October 23, 2016

Digital activism isn’t just about technology. It’s also about the people who use it. In an age when we’re online all the time, communicating with people on the ground continues to be a crucial way to create change. This event features anti-poverty activist Penny Goldsmith who presents her compelling graphic book about the hard-scrabble anti-poverty activism in rural and urban British Columbia, before and after computers.

Storming the Digital Divide is the story of anti-poverty advocates working online together. It’s the story of how they have taken the technology and used it for their own purposes, to build a social justice movement.
