As researchers, how can we extend an archival object's life through the act of remix?
Students in RTA893: Social Justice Media have explored this act of research-creation in a variety of ways – from the creation of zines that parody and reference existing archival material to the creation of short films that put themselves in conversation with generations past.
While we hope these works can provide you with a starting point and some inspiration, the possibilities of this domain are endless. As we bring archival objects outside the space of the archive, we give it new life as they take on new meanings, affordances, and interactions beyond its existing history.
