A popular mode of data visualization within digital humanities, timelines are useful for highlighting legacies and changes over time. In comparison to the object-based mode of presenting history within the traditional archive or the spatial presentation in our map page, a timeline allows us to more easily see how much - or how little - things have changed throughout history.
